Like any accomplished artist will tell you, practice will get you to a level of drawing skills that so many of us admire. It is important that you give yourself plenty of time to learn and understand your progress as you learn to draw.

As you can see the versatility of the app cannot be disputed and you can make rapid drawings such as this right on your phone.

I will provide one key tip that you should aim for when doing any drawing with any types of medium. Master your medium such that you are very familiar with and understand and appreciate the capabilities of the medium. When you come to draw the subject, you will apply this knowledge to good effect in order to make your drawings to your expectations.

Please think carefully about this tip since it is loaded with important key elements to drawing.

We are going to try and make this bird drawing below. This should be easy enough and you can use the line brush tool to good effect. In order to achieve opacity of your brush too, you should alter the ‘hardness’ level like I did for the branch. Don’t be afraid to experiment, since you will learn how the brush strokes come about when you do the drawing. If you don’t succeed in getting the effect you are looking for, try something different or try another subject to draw. You won’t be wasting any paper, since you will be doing this on your phone.
