If you are new to Paint by Numbers for Paintology, it might be worth trying out something simpler with less colors and a quicker application of the paint. Usually clipart paint by numbers can be ideal for this due to the bigger and clean swatches of color that you can easily apply. You can also try out the many other clipart tutorials in the Paintology tutorials section, look under cartoon characters or easy categories in this section.

You may have tried or seen Paint by Numbers kits available online or from your local hobby store. They are a great pastime and an ideal way for you to get into painting. My journey in painting and drawing stemmed from a Paint by Numbers painting that I did many years ago and you can read about it here. However, you may not have heard that Paint by Numbers are also available for phones and tablets and this is thanks to the new Paint by Numbers app by Paintology. You can try many of the other tutorials available directly from the app where you can have hours of fun while improving your drawing strokes. The above doll painting will improve your strokes since there are circles and straight lines which you can practice with. However, when first doing it, don’t get too frustrated if you cannot do an exact line or a circle, in time, you will improve and get better. Just like the methods of doing the other paint by numbers painting ie. landscapes etc, your aim is to improve your freehand way of drawing. After all, this is the way you will improve your artform in other areas of drawing and painting, for example, when you want to create unique works of art.
