This is because the artists use much of the digital correcton tools that come with the software and the app. Also, they have been designed to make art easier rather than resorting to the skills that have been the mainstay of traditional artists. With digital technology you can do amazing things with a computer, just look at our smartphones! Most of the digital art will look ‘digital’ because of the shortcuts, line corrections, layers etc. You cannot fool another human when these shortcuts and corrections are made on the artwork, not matter what.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way, if the artist carries their skills learnt in the traditional mediums to the digital medium. I have demonstrated this with many of my drawings and paintings made with the Paintology drawing app found in Google play store.

All it requires is the use of one or two brushes and much of the artistic skills acquired in the traditional mediums. Here are a few I can share with you.
