Anime Drawing on the Paintology App

Anime is a popular drawing subject for many youngsters and adults alike. This is partly due to the proliferation of TV series and movies based around the anime characters and stories. You only have to check Netflix or Prime to see all the TV series and movies made in Anime.

Paintology is a great app to make anime drawings easily and you can check out videos below on how to draw anime characters simply and easily.

The Loomis method of drawing anime is great to get alignment of the facial features with regards to the head ie. eyes, nose, lips, chin etc.

I explain more about this process on the post below.

You probably heard the same advise when drawing which is to practice and this is no different to my advise too. However, when you do practice try to pay attention to the mistakes and improvements that you are making from each drawing. This will help you to train your mind to get better more quickly and not just rely on motor instincts and repetitiveness. In this way each drawing will also be more interesting to you and help you advance more quickly.

In addition to doing drawing using short simple strokes, you can also do drawings using the ‘line’ method. I show you on the video below. Doing line drawings such as this can help you get better in the accuracy of your drawings.

Here is one of the latest drawings of an anime character and using both the ‘line’ drawing and followed by the shade.

A big tip.

Do not blame anything on the tools if you are not having any success

It’s basically down to the point I was making earlier which is not ‘thinking’ and analyzing your drawing ie. mistakes and improvements. The more you do this, the more you will understand how the tool behaves and you won’t be a slave to the tools but a master of the tools that you use.

With this approach, you can accomplish a lot in your creative drawing journey. Check out the video tutorials of the Paintology app under the Video Tutorials button and you will see many examples of how far you can do with just one brush tool.

If you are a beginner, try to do some of the simpler drawings or try out the Pant by Numbers to get comfortable with drawing and coloring in general.

About Paintology

The Paintology app has been developed for those who love drawing and painting in the traditional medium. As such the app is simple but yet powerful enough to appeal to both beginners and advanced users alike. We don’t measure our app based on how many ‘features’ it has but more on the content that enables artists to do what they love which is drawing and painting.

You may find comments on the app store from users who are beginners and have not fully grasped the understanding of what it is like to draw and paint. It would be great if you can comment and review the app after you have used it for sometimes and give us some positive feedback that will help us and our users to make the app even better.

Thanks!
