If you are new to the Paintology Paint by Numbers drawing app, we suggest you get comfortable with some of the tools for the app. The tools are very easy to use which includes the brush dialog, full color palette and easy to use color picker. Use the zoom feature with your fingers when you want to get close to the smaller details.

The recommended approach to doing Paint by numbers with Paintology is to first do the larger color swatch much like the paint by numbers that you may have done with traditional medium. Also, even though the colors and numbers are all provided on the canvas, you don’t necessarily have to follow this to the exacting requirements. Try to be creative and use some of your flair to do the smaller details according to what you think.

In the same way that you used to do coloring with Paint by Nos that comes in kit form with a canvas and a paint set with brushes, the Paintology app is surprisingly close to the traditional medium.

There are many apps on the Google play store that claims to be paint by numbers but in the truer sense they are not. They only allow you to tap the colored region to generate the color which loses the value and importance of painting that region. I doubt anyone will improve their painting and drawing skills using this method.
